The Road to Guantanamo will be the first film to be offered for legal download as soon as it gets released. The Michael Winterbottom film, The Road to Guantanamo is described as part drama, part documentary, and follows the story of three British Muslims who were held captive in Guantanamo Bay for two years before finally being released this spring without charge.

The work which was aired on Thursday on British Channel 4 Television marks the first time a film has been made available for legal download at the same time as it’s shown on television, and before it release in movie halls.

The film will go to cinemas this weekend and will appear on DVD on 27th March.
